Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser has had a very good long weekend, playing walk-off hero for the team twice in two days.

Cowser hit a three-run homer Sunday in the bottom of the ninth to secure a walk-off win in the first game of a double-header against the Detroit Tigers. And then, on Monday, he did it again to lift Baltimore to a 9-7 win.

Monday’s series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays was one that kept on going, moving into the 13th inning before Cowser’s shining moment.

After heading into extra innings tied 2-2, both teams scored two runs in the 11th and one in the 12th inning to keep the game going. In the top of the 13th, Tampa Bay scored two runs to retake the lead, but Baltimore quickly tied things up in the bottom of the 13th.

That’s when Cowser, “The Milkman,” stepped up to the plate and hit his second walk-off homer in as many days. The two-run bomb gave the Orioles the win and finally bring the game to an end.

Cowser had entered the game in the seventh inning as a pinch hitter for right fielder Tyler O’Neil, before sending it long six innings later. Cowser’s game-winning bomb on Sunday also came after he pinch hit, with the outfielder entering the game in the eighth inning for left fielder Blaze Alexander.

Cowser has only three home runs this season in 91 at-bats; now, two of those three are walk-off winners.

The Orioles are only a week removed from getting swept by the Rays in Tampa, which included a blowout loss where Baltimore allowed 16 runs. Monday’s win, though, starts their homestand against the Rays on a different note.
