NBA Playoffs 2026: 1 bettor is two San Antonio Spurs wins away from a $1.7 million payout
One of the more in vogue wagers for the betting public at sportsbooks these days is the futures parlay, where bettors tie together teams in various sports to make or win their championships.
At DraftKings Sportsbook, one bettor’s long-shot parlay is on the verge of a $1.7 million payout — if the San Antonio Spurs can win the next two games of the Western Conference Finals.
The bettor placed a $2,500 four-leg parlay with +68528 odds back on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14), which would win $1,713,200 if all four legs hit. The legs were:
Michigan to win the Men’s college basketball title (+500)
U.S. men’s hockey team to win the gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics (+180)
New York Knicks to win the Eastern Conference (+330)
San Antonio Spurs to win the Western Conference (+850)
The first three legs of the parlay have already hit, as the United States beat Canada 2-1 on Feb. 22 to win the country’s first gold medal since 1980. No. 1 seed Michigan rolled through the NCAA tournament and beat UConn 69-63 in the men’s championship game on April 6. And the Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 in their ECF series, which wrapped up on Monday, May 25.
The bettor had a cashout offer of $502,583.66 from DraftKings before Game 5 of the WCF, with the series tied 2-2 between the Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, but declined the offer.
“It’s a crazy return on investment,” the bettor explains in the embedded X post above. “It’s shameful not to take it in gambling, you have to take your winnings and run. But I don’t see it as such. I see it as me leaving $1.2 million on the table.”
The bettor noted that he wouldn’t be accepting that cashout offer (“no way, no how”) and unfortunately the Spurs lost 127-114 in Game 5 to fall behind 3-2 in the series. San Antonio is now back to a +350 to win the series and a 3.5-point home favorite in Game 6.
Covers’ Grant Mitchell reported that the cashout offer dropped to $293,273.26 after San Antonio’s loss and that a DraftKings employee told Mitchell the bettor wouldn’t accept the lower offer.
All eyes will be on Game 6 on Thursday night.
