President Trump responds to uproar over Giants QB Jaxson Dart's appearance at rally
Discussions over New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart introducing President Donald Trump at a rally last week aren’t quite finished.
President Trump responded to the uproar over Dart’s introduction in a post on social media on Saturday, thanking the Giants quarterback for his appearance and claiming that the criticism directed toward both of them (and all of the president’s supporters) is based in jealousy.
Trump went on to tout Dart’s popularity among his supporters and the QB’s money-making potential, while deriding critics. The president also indicated that he would see Dart again at the White House at some point.

Dart introduced Trump at a rally held approximately 40 miles outside New York City last week, which was noted by fans and observers. But teammate Abdul Carter responded to the appearance on social media, questioning Dart’s decision to appear at the rally. Naturally, that prompted questions as to whether there was now division in the Giants’ locker room over political support and beliefs.
However, Carter quickly responded to the developing narratives, telling fans that he and Dart spoke about the matter and were “good.”
The Giants met for organized team activities this week, where Dart told reporters that he addressed his teammates while they were together in a statement to the media.
Dart acknowledged that “politics can be a sensitive matter,” which he needs to consider as someone playing the featured position for an NFL team playing in the New York market and the scrutiny that comes with such status.
Carter followed up by saying there were no issues between him and Dart.
New Giants head coach John Harbaugh also commented on the situation with reporters, saying that it presented “a really good opportunity” for players from various backgrounds to learn and establish how they interact with each other, in addition to the public.
