Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs reported to OTAs on Tuesday and joined in on team drills.

Jacobs has spent some time away from the team this offseason due to an off-the-field legal investigation. He was initially investigated on May 23, 2026.

The running back was then arrested on May 26 and charged on five different counts related to domestic abuse.

Jacobs was in police custody for about 24 hours before he was released on May 27. The running back remains under investigation.

The office said there is a distinction between the evidence thresholds for arrest and charging. The threshold for arrest is “probable cause,” while charges would require evidence of a crime “beyond a reasonable doubt.”

The DA’s office added that, based on the evidence at the time, they were not ready to make a formal charging decision. The office requested an additional formal investigation into the matter.

Head coach Matt LaFleur briefly addressed the situation Tuesday morning, saying Jacobs would be practicing and that it is “business as usual.”

The league is aware of the situation and has been in contact with the Packers. Green Bay released a statement acknowledging that the investigation was ongoing and that it had no further comment at the time.

Jacobs has been in the NFL for seven years. He began his career with the then-Oakland Raiders, spending five seasons with the franchise.

The running back hit free agency after the 2023 NFL season and signed a four-year, $48 million contract with the Packers. He is through two years of the deal.
