The game is part of the in-season Commissioner's Cup tournament, the two teams are currently ranked in the top 3 in the Eastern Conference standings after the first week of the tournament. (The Fever managed an 83-71 win against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday despite Caitlin Clark's sudden bout of vomiting at halftime, which didn't prevent her from returning to the game in the third quarter and finishing the game with 17 points. Clark's illness appears to have been short-lived and she is expected to play against the Liberty on Saturday.)
