The Minnesota Timberwolves announced on Sunday that the franchise would have a new logo, new uniforms and a new home court moving forward.

Minnesota debuted the change on its official X account, leading with a hype video that pays homage to the past while looking clearly toward the future.

The new identity comes with a new logo, three new uniforms and two different home courts, all expected to debut with the upcoming 2026-2027 season.

Minnesota's old logo was a picture of a wolf howling in front of a basketball. The logo was dark blue with green and white accents. It also had the words "Minnesota Timberwolves" rotating around the basketball and wolf.

The Timberwolves' new logo kept the concept of the wolf superimposed on the basketball. Trees have been added to the bottom right of the logo, and the color scheme has been updated.

Now, the blue used is lighter, and more white and green accents were used. The unveiled logo dropped the city and team names.

Minnesota also unveiled three new uniforms. The first has a white base for the jersey and shorts. The lettering and numbers are blue with a light green outline. The shorts also have an "M" and one of the trees on the waist.

The second jersey is a royal blue base for the jersey and shorts. The numbers and lettering are light green and outlined in white. There is green and white piping along the shoulders, neck and at the bottom of the shorts.

Minnesota lastly unveiled a dark blue/black base jersey. The lettering and numbers are white with green outlines. These jerseys have green trees outlining the neck, shoulders and waistband.

The Timberwolves also unveiled two new court designs. The "core court" has the new logo at its center. Each key on either side of the court is painted grey. The outline of the court is dark blue with the word "Timberwolves" and three green trees on each baseline.

Minnesota also unveiled its "statement court." This court has "Wolves" written in white with a green outline at the center. Each key is painted black, and the court border is also black.

The baselines read "Minnesota" with the same three green trees. On the side of the court with the benches, three more trees were added in the corners, and five trees were added to each side of the check-in line. The opposite sideline has green trees going from corner to corner.

This image rebranding comes in the first full offseason since the Timberwolves were purchased in a $1.5 billion sale in June 2025.

The franchise had previously been owned by Glen Taylor, but he sold the team to a group led by Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore, both of whom were featured in the hype video released for the rebrand.

Minnesota finished with a 49-33 record in the 2025-2026 season, good enough for the 6-seed in the Western Conference playoffs. The Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets in the first round but lost to the San Antonio Spurs in six games in the second.
