In 2016, the Williams sisters teamed up at won the doubles title at Wimbledon. Ten years later, they’ll try to do it again.

Serena Williams will continue her tennis comeback by teaming up with her sister Venus Williams at the prestigious Grand Slam, the event announced Tuesday.

The pair have experienced a ton of success at the event over their careers, winning doubles at Wimbledon six different times, the last of which came in 2016. The first two times they won the event, the Williams sisters were wild cards.

They’ll receive the same designation in 2026. With Serena just returning to the game and Venus only playing professional matches sporadically, neither player is ranked high enough to qualify for Wimbledon. Because of that, they’ll be considered wild cards at the event.

As doubles partners, Venus and Serena have experienced a ton of success. The pair have won 14 Grand Slam titles together. Wimbledon has been their best event. They’ve not only won it more than any other Grand Slam, but they’ve picked up their two most-recent doubles titles at the event.

Venus, who will turn 46 on Wednesday, has continued to play in events sporadically over the past few years. She struggled as a singles player in 2026, going 1-5 in events so far. She’ll look to flip that script at Wimbledon.

After roughly four years away from the sport, Serena, 44, announced a comeback in early June. She participated in the HSBC Championships earlier in the month, winning one match before she was forced to retire from the event after her doubles partner, Victoria Mboko, went down with an injury.

Serena will also take part in the Berlin Open, where she’ll play doubles with Karolína Muchová. Their first match at the event is scheduled for Tuesday.

During Serena’s comeback, there have been rumors of the tennis legend taking part in Wimbledon singles one more time. While she’s made no announcement yet, one women’s singles wild-card spot was left as “to be announced” at Wimbledon, potentially opening the door for Serena to make her return to singles play.
