Al Horford might be 40, but he still has plenty left in the tank. The long-time veteran reportedly intends to sign a two-year, $14 million deal to stay with the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

Horford declined his player option with the team in order to sign a slightly longer extension.

With the move, Horford will become just the 13th player in NBA history to play at least 20 seasons in the league. He joins a list littered with NBA legends, including Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, among others.

Horford has come a long way since being selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. He showed promise with the team immediately, finishing second in the Rookie of the Year voting after his first season.

Horford would go on to play nine seasons in Atlanta, making four All-Star Games over that period.

After three seasons with the Boston Celtics, Horford spent one year with the Philadelphia 76ers and one year with the Oklahoma City Thunder before returning to the Celtics for four more years.

His second stint with Boston proved productive, as Horford won a championship with the team during the 2023-24 NBA season.

Horford spent one more season in Boston before signing with the Warriors ahead of last season. He was an effective bench player with Golden State. In 45 games last season, Horford averaged 8.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per contest.
