Mike Conley reportedly agrees to 1-year deal with Celtics, becoming 14th player in NBA history to reach 20 seasons
Mike Conley has something in common with Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. After reportedly signing a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, Conley became just the 14th player in NBA history to reach 20 seasons, per ESPN's Shams Charania.
That's a rare honor held by Abdul-Jabaar, James and Bryant, among a select few others.

The financial details of Conley's contract were not immediately available.
With the signing, Conley joins an exclusive list of just 13 other players who have reached 20 seasons in the NBA.
• LeBron James: 23
• Vince Carter: 22
• Kevin Garnett: 21
• Dirk Nowitzki: 21
• Robert Parish: 21
• Chris Paul: 21
• Kevin Willis: 21
• Kareem Abdul-Jabaar: 20
• Kobe Bryant: 20
• Jamal Crawford: 20
• Udonis Haslem: 20
• Kyle Lowry: 20
While the above list only includes 12 players, both Conley and Al Horford are set to play their 20th season in the NBA next year. Horford reportedly signed with the Warriors last Thursday, putting him in line for the honor.
The 38-year-old Conley will join the Celtics after a three-and-a-half year run with the Minnesota Timberwolves. After being a starter with the team the first two-and-a-half years after he was acquired in a trade, Conley shifted to a backup role with the Timberwolves last season. He averaged 4.5 points and 2.9 assists in 18.4 minutes per game in that role.
Conley's NBA career started back in 2007, when the Memphis Grizzlies selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the draft. He spent his first 12 seasons with the Grizzlies, often receiving recognition for his strong defensive game. During the 2013-14 season, however, Conley did receive one point in the MVP voting. He averaged 17.2 points and 6.0 assists per game that year.
In the offseason following the 2018-19 NBA season, Conley was traded to the Utah Jazz. He put up strong numbers with the franchise, earning his first and only — so far — All-Star appearance during the 2020-21 season. Conley spent three-and-a-half years in Utah before being traded to the Timberwolves.
While Conley has seen his scoring numbers drop in recent years, he's still an effective role player. Despite the decline, the Celtics believe Conley still has enough left in the tank to give the team one more solid season in the NBA.
