The Kansas City Royals were perfect from the plate on Monday.

The Royals rolled to a dominant 15-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday at Kauffman Stadium, wrapping up their three-game series. The Royals, who entered the game with the second-worst record in the sport, scored a run in every single inning they were at the plate in the victory.

Kansas City put up a season-high 15 runs on 22 hits in the contest. It marked just the second time in franchise history that the Royals scored at least one run in every inning they were at the plate. According to MLB.com's Sarah Langs, the Royals are the first team in the league to pull off that feat since the 2016 Chicago White Sox did so.

The Royals have now gone nine straight innings scoring at least one run, including Sunday's 5-2 win over the Phillies. That's the longest streak in franchise history, snapping a record set in 1998.

Phillies starter Christopher Sánchez gave up a career-worst nine runs in his start on Monday, six of which came in the first inning. The Royals, thanks largely to a three-run homer from Luke Maile, were up 6-1 almost immediately. The at-bat was Maile's first of the season.

Salvador Perez hit a solo home run in the second for the Royals to add to their lead. It marked the 314th of his career. Kansas City then added one run in the next four innings before putting up two each in the seventh and eighth.

Jac Caglianone hit an RBI single in each of the last two innings. Tyler Tolbert had five hits in the win, a career-first for him and the first time a Royals player has done so since 2022.

The Phillies got on the board in the first inning after Alec Bohm hit an RBI double. They had at least one baserunner in every inning after that, too, but did not score.

Kyle Schwarber was ejected in the sixth inning, too, after getting into it with the umpire about a checked swing.

One of the quickest ejections you'll see all year happened earlier today in Kansas City when Kyle Schwarber waved off the third base umpire on a check swing appeal.

The loss dropped the Phillies to 50-41 on the season. They sit second in the NL East and will begin a series against the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday.

The Royals, despite their dominant outing, are still last in the AL Central at 37-54. They've lost eight of their past 11, too.
