As defending champs, why aren't Seahawks commanding our attention?

On the latest episode of Yahoo Sports' "Football 301" podcast, hosts Nate Tice and Matt Harmon took a detour from their usual routines to focus on a surprising storyline: the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are, by their estimation, flying under the national radar like few champions before them.

As Tice put it, "Potentially the least talked about Super Bowl champs in a long time. At least that's what Seattle Seahawks fans feel right now."

Why is this Super Bowl team being overlooked?

Harmon points to a unique confluence of factors. First and foremost is the Seahawks' remarkable continuity. Outside of swapping in new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury from San Francisco, the core roster and much of the coaching staff remain intact. There's no divisive quarterback storyline as Sam Darnold is now broadly accepted for what he is.

"I think we all kind of have level-set to what Sam Darnold is," Harmon said.

The lack of flashy moves is also a key ingredient in this under-discussed narrative. No headline-grabbing trades or departures, just steady internal growth and subtle front-office moves. Even the most controversial offseason move, drafting running back Jadarian Price at the end of the first round, hasn't generated meaningful outrage.

All of this, the "301" duo argued, has led to a situation where there's "just not a lot to debate here." The result: National media and NFL fans have moved on to more drama-filled offseasons, leaving the Seahawks as one of the league's quietest champions.

This stability is no sign of weakness. It's the steady foundation of another contending season.
