It might be a while before Philadelphia Phillies fans forgive Jordan Walker for what he did Monday night.

The attendees at Citizens Bank Park greeted the St. Louis Cardinals slugger Jordan Walker with raucous boos ahead of the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, still bitter about his triumph over home-team hero Kyle Schwarber in a dramatic Home Run Derby.

Like the previous night, Walker didn’t seem to mind.

To be fair, Walker wasn’t the only player booed. Philadelphia had plenty of jeers for many of the non-Phillies on the field, especially from the other NL East teams.

Phillies fans celebrated as if the Derby was over Monday when Schwarber went first in the final and clubbed 11 homers, more than any player had hit with the number of swings in the semifinals. They were celebrating even more when a mediocre start left Walker with only six homers and three swings left.

They got progressively more quiet as Walker hit six straight homers to stun Schwarber and claim the crown.

Phillies fans had been an audible presence throughout the Derby, booing every player not named Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper during the intros and cheering every miss from Schwarber's opponents in the semifinal (Willson Contreras) and final (Walker).

It was a good bit, but it just ended up making Walker's win, the first by a Cardinal in the Derby, all the more wild.

Phillies fans might not be done seeing Walker in a Home Run Derby either, as he is one of three players tapped by manager Dave Roberts to take part in a swing-off if the All-Star Game is tied after nine innings.
