The first half of Sunday’s Game 4 of the Western Conference finals was a grind for pretty much anyone not named Victor Wembanyama.

The San Antonio Spurs went into the break with a 50-38 lead in a half in which neither team shot 37% from the field.

But there was no stopping Wembanyama, who finished the first half with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. He capped the half with a heave from the half-court line while surrounded by three Thunder defenders.

The ball sank through the net as the buzzer sounded to extend San Antonio’s lead in a must-win game.

And it was Wembanyama’s plan the whole time. He called for the ball deep in the backcourt in order to set up his shot.

The Spurs entered Game 4 facing a 2-1 deficit with the series shifting back to Oklahoma City for Game 5. Wembanyama’s doing everything in his power to ensure they don’t do so in a 3-1 hole.
