The San Antonio Spurs beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 111-103 on Saturday night to clinch a spot in the NBA Finals against the New York Knicks.

Spurs fans flooded the streets of San Antonio, channeling the emotion that Victor Wembanyama showed after the huge Game 7 win. Even with the NBA Finals still to come, the Spurs faithful stayed in the moment and celebrated in the city until the team returned home.

There were fireworks and cheers, of course, but it isn’t a Texas celebration until someone shows up riding horses.

Luckily, those in attendance didn’t have to wait long as two people on horses were part of the celebration, waving a Spurs team flag.

No celebration in 2026 is complete without some form of a drone light show. While the celebrations were going on, a green alien face appeared in the sky, almost like the Batman signal.

Alien faces were prominent during the celebrations, both with fans dressing up and the drone shows in homage to Wembanyama, who has picked up the nickname, “The Alien.”

At nearly 2 a.m. local time, the team’s flight from Oklahoma City touched down. They then had a police escort through town, being cheered by fans the entire way.

The crowds didn’t only stop at the popular areas of town or on the team bus’s path from the airport. Fans also flooded lines at Academy Sports stores because the retail outlets were opening late to sell merch celebrating the Western Conference finals win, as well as merch ahead of the NBA finals.

Overall, the celebrations went long into the night and into the wee hours of the morning.

With the excitement that San Antonio showed from winning the Western Conference for the first time since 2014, you can only imagine how big the celebrations in the city would be if the Spurs end up beating the Knicks and winning the NBA championship.
