This is not a moment Jo Adell is going to want to remember.

The Los Angeles Angels outfielder botched what looked like a routine fly ball on Tuesday night in Anaheim. Remarkably, that mistake resulted in a home run for the Colorado Rockies.

In the fourth inning of the contest at Angel Stadium, with the Rockies already running away with it, Colorado designated hitter TJ Rumfield hit a deep shot to right centerfield in Adell’s direction. But as he was trying to track the ball into his glove, Adell just barely missed.

The ball went through his glove, bounced off his head and then over the outfield wall. So, it counted as a home run for Rumfield.

The replay was even worse, but confirmed the home run. Brutal.

The home run came during what was already a rough outing for the Angels. The Rockies jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the fourth inning. They put up three in the second inning after Hunter Goodman got them started with a solo home run, and then Willi Castro hit a three-run shot of his own early in the fourth to contribute to the blowout.

Adell, who the Angels selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft, is in his seventh season with the franchise this summer. He carried a .236 batting average into Tuesday's contest along with 34 RBIs and nine home runs.

The Angels currently hold a 23-38 record, which has them in last in the AL West race. They’ve dropped four of their last six, too, including a 9-8 loss to the Rockies to open their three-game series on Monday night.
