The Las Vegas Golden Knights sustained two major losses Thursday night. The team not only blew Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, giving up three goals in the third period to set up an overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, but also lost defenseman Brayden McNabb early in the contest.

McNabb was forced to leave the game in the first period after taking a puck to the face. The defenseman got in the way of a shot on goal, with the puck hitting him directly in the visor.

McNabb was eventually able to skate off the ice under his own power, though was bleeding.

Later during the broadcast, it was announced that McNabb was heading to a local hospital to get checked out. Following the game, a 4-3 loss for the Golden Knights, Vegas coach John Tortorella said he was still waiting for an update on McNabb's condition.

McNabb has been a key contributor to the Golden Knights all year, leading the team with 142 blocks in the regular season. He's been a strong force in the playoffs as well, posting a 10 plus-minus across the 17 postseason games in which he's played.

With McNabb sidelined, Jeremy Lauzon saw increased playing time in Vegas' loss.

Following the Hurricanes' win in Game 2, the Stanley Cup Final is tied 1-1. With Game 3 set for Saturday, McNabb won't have much time to recover if he's hoping to make a quick return to the ice.
