NBA Finals 2026: Knicks auction off 2 celebrity row seats for over $1 million ahead of Game 3

New York Knicks fans will do whatever it takes to watch their team win its first championship since the 1970s. That much has been proven by the rabid ferocity Knicks fans have shown during the first two games of the 2026 NBA Finals.

But if you needed more evidence that Knicksmania is running rampant in New York, look no further than the result of a recent auction held by the team. In advance of Game 3 of the Finals — the first game of the series at Madison Square Garden — the team auctioned off two celebrity row seats to anyone who could scrounge up enough money to make that dream come true.

The result: The team raised over $1 million for its charity, per multiple reports.

The tickets were won by a law office and a private-equity firm, so it's unclear if anyone recognizable will fill those seats Monday night. The usual celebrities should still find themselves at the contest, however, meaning it would not be a shock to see Spike Lee or Timothée Chalamet make an appearance at Game 3.

While ticket prices exploded following the team's Game 2 win on Friday — the get-in price for Game 3 reached an astounding $13,159 — those prices have dropped dramatically in the hours leading up to the game, with the get-in now dipping below $5,000.

It's possible demand slightly waned, though it's also possible that an appearance by President Donald Trump — who will attend Game 3 — has resulted in a price reduction. Trump's appearance brings longer wait times and increased security at the event, and that may have played a role in get-in ticket prices falling.

At least one member of the Knicks expressed dismay at ticket costs for Games 3 and 4. Josh Hart called ticket prices "ridiculous," and said they were keeping out "a lot of people who have been waiting for this moment for a very long time."

Despite turning in an excellent result, the auction seems to prove Hart's point.
